Crime Stoppers Featured Case #24-16 - Ballot Boxes Damaged

The Portland Fire Investigation Unit in conjunction with Crime Stoppers of Oregon is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect involved in damaging area ballot boxes.
On October 28, 2024, ballot boxes in Vancouver, Washington as well as Portland, Oregon, were damaged with an incendiary device. The suspect in these incidents is reported to be a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, balding or with very short hair, having a thin face and build, wearing a dark shirt.
The vehicle driven by the suspect is believed to be a 2001 to 2004 black Volvo S60. It may have sections painted in a matte sheen indicative of repair work, as well as missing the front Volvo grill emblem. The vehicle has dark wheels and a tan or light grey interior.
At this time, investigators believe it is possible the suspect intends to continue these targeted attacks.

Crime Stoppers Featured Case #24-15 - 9th Anniversary of Dion Matthews Jr. Homicide
October 10, 2024
Officers and medical personnel arrived and were directed to the parking lot behind the business, Dante's, located at 380 West Burnside Street. There officers located 23-year-old Dion Anthony Matthews Jr. deceased. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that Matthews died of a gunshot wound.

Crime Stoppers Featured Case #24-14 -Vancouver Police seek assistance to identify stabbing suspects

The Vancouver Police Department in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is seeking assistance from the public in identifying stabbing suspects.
On August 2, 2024, at around 11:00 p.m., a 50-year-old male was walking his service dog in a field on the Wy-east middle school (111 SE 136th Avenue) campus when he was attacked by three males described to be in their teens. The victim was stabbed multiple times in his back and torso during the assault. He was transported to an area hospital for immediate treatment and is still recovering from his injuries. His service dog was not injured.
The Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Unit has been actively investigating this crime and investigators are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) in conjunction with Crime Stoppers of Oregon is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the arsonist who damaged 15 vehicles at PPB’s Training Division.
On Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:55a.m., Portland Police North Precinct was dispatched to assist Portland Fire & Rescue at the Portland Police Training Division, located in the 14900 block of Northeast Airport Way. When they arrived they found at least 15 vehicles in a fenced training area were burning. Firefighters extinguished the fires. The building was undamaged, and no injuries were reported.

The Vancouver Police Department in conjunction with Crime Stoppers of Oregon is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing person.
On March 26th, Cristina Ase, a 61-year-old Vancouver woman, was reported missing to the Vancouver Police Department by her husband. Coworkers of Cristina also called police when she did not show up to work earlier that morning. Cristina was last heard from at about 5:30 a.m. on March 26th.
Christina’s vehicle was located unoccupied in Vancouver on March 27. She is possibly carrying a black & white bag or purse. Her clothing is unknown. A photo of Cristina Ase is included with this release.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Chrisina Ase, to contact Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect who shot and killed a man in Ontario, Oregon on January 16, 2024.
On Tuesday afternoon , January 16, 2024, shortly before 4:00pm, law enforcement personnel from the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office, Ontario Police Department and the Oregon State Police were dispatched to the area of 1167 NW 22nd Avenue after a 911 caller reported a man had been shot.
Law enforcement arrived on scene and located one victim with serious injuries. The suspect(s) in the shooting fled just prior to deputies arriving. Attempts to provide emergency medical assistance to the man were not successful, he was later pronounced deceased.
A vehicle was observed leaving the scene after the shooting with multiple occupants.
The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office is asking for tips to identify the suspect(s) involved in the shooting as well as the vehicle.

With assistance of Crime Stoppers of Oregon, the Washougal Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the unsolved 2020 homicide of Sandra Ladd.
Sandra was killed in her home in the 1900 block of 41st Street in Washougal, WA over the weekend of June 12th to 14th, 2020.
Sandra was a long-time resident of Washougal and retired from working with the Washougal School District. Sandra was a loving mother of four children and six grandchildren. At the time of Sandra’s death, she was 71 years old. Anyone with information regarding the homicide of Sandra is requested to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

On July 3rd, 2023, at 11:01 PM at the 7’11 located at SE 148th Ave / SE Stark St, the pictured individual assaulted a man in front of his family over an argument related to fentanyl. The victim was knocked unconscious and sustained serious injuries.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the death of 59-year-old Richard Champion of Sublimity, Oregon. Mr. Champion was reported missing by his family in September 2022 and was found deceased in Linn County on December 9, 2022, near northern Millersburg.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of Mr. Champion as a homicide. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Mr. Champion’s family are seeking information and tips to help solve this case. Detectives would like to speak to anyone with any information regarding Richard Champion.

Crime Stoppers Featured Case #23-21 - Unsolved Homicide of Evelyn Jeanette Weaver in Bend, Oregon
November 13, 2023
The City of Bend Police Department, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to solve the murder of Evelyn Weaver.
Bend Police continue to investigate the homicide of 28-year-old Evelyn Jeanette Weaver, who was found dead in her home in the 200 block of NW Hill Street in Bend, Oregon, on July 18, 2023.
Weaver’s 2004 silver Honda CR-V, Oregon license plate 085BMP, was located, unoccupied, on July 20 at the corner of Shasta Way and Division Street in Klamath Falls, Oregon. A surveillance video showed the vehicle parking in that location during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 15, and an unknown individual, who appears to be an adult male, exiting the vehicle.
Bend Police believe that the suspect likely traveled between Bend and Klamath Falls between the hours of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14 and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 15.

On 09/18/23 at approximately 8:53 PM, Maria Negrete was fatally struck by a vehicle near SE Hall Blvd and SW Pfaffle St. in Tigard, Oregon. The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the area and has not been located. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a small or mid-sized vehicle.

Crime Stoppers Featured Case #23-20 - Jose Monroy-Castaneda Homicide

On Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at approximately 1:12 am, a shooting occurred on SE 136th Avenue north of SE Powell Boulevard. Jose Monroy-Castaneda (52 years old) was fatally shot at the location and another individual was seriously wounded.
Monroy-Castaneda's death has been ruled a homicide. Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Unit are actively investigating this case. Investigators are seeking tips that will lead to an arrest and they would like to hear from anyone with information about this homicide investigation.

Crime Stoppers Featured Case #23-18
September 18, 2023
The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the November 2020 homicide of Harold Major.
On November 7, 2020, at approximately 7:33 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to the report of gunshots in the 3500 Block of Southeast 33rd Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid to the victim until paramedics arrived, however, the victim died at the scene.
The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim, 31-year old Harold Andrew Major, died as a result of a gunshot wound and the death was ruled a homicide.
