Crime Stoppers of Oregon Featured Case #17-13 – Hate Crime

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to solve a hate crime that occurred in Troutdale.

On March 28, 2017, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Southeast 26th Court in Troutdale on the report of a burglary and vandalism.

Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke with the 33-year-old male victim, learning that an unknown person or persons broke into the home over the weekend and spray painted anti-Muslim graffiti and other epithets throughout the home. The victim told police that he was born in Iran but is not Muslim.

There is no suspect information in this case.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime and tipsters can remain anonymous.

Information about any unsolved homicide is eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. Information about any other unsolved felony crime is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects. Links can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
