Crime Stoppers Featured Case #18-14 – Maurice Gatson Homicide

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to solve a 2015 homicide.

On Saturday October 3, 2015, at 12:45 a.m., Portland Police East Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team (GET) officers responded to the report of someone shot outside the Pallas Club, located at 13639 SE Powell Boulevard.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located 45-year-old Maurice Anthony Gatson suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Gatson is survived by his wife and two children.

The suspect has been described as a Black male adult.

Homicide detectives have released surveillance video of the shooting to aid in the identification of the suspect. Warning — the video is graphic and may upset some viewers but is being released with the consent of Gatson’s family.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime and tipsters can remain anonymous.

Information about any unsolved homicide is eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500.

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects. Links can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
