The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who assaulted a woman in Southeast Portland.

On June 19, 2015, at approximately 7:50 p.m., a suspect known as “Papa John” assaulted a woman inside her apartment, located in the 2400 block of Southeast 139th Avenue. The suspect struck the victim with a baseball bat several times and attempted to stab the victim with a knife.

The suspect, “Papa John,” is described as a white male in his 60s, 5’2” tall, 120 pounds, wearing wire-framed glasses. He may have previously spent time in prison.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects. Links can be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
