The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to solve a Downtown Portland homicide.
On Thursday October 16, 2014, at 2:25 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to Southwest 4th and Madison Street on an assault call after Federal Police located a man collapsed on the sidewalk with an apparent stab wound.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim on the southeast corner of the intersection. Medical personnel determined that the man was deceased.
The victim, 43-year-old Marc Stephen Sundin, died of a stab wound to the chest. Sundin was a current resident of Downtown Portland.
Homicide detectives do not have any suspect information in this case and need the public’s help to backtrack Sundin’s activities the night he was killed.
Detectives are releasing a color copy of Sundin’s California drivers license photo to aid with this investigation. No other photos of Sundin are available.
Witnesses may contact the investigators directly or, to remain anonymous, they may provide information through Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
