CRIME STOPPERS CASE # 15-10 Pellet Gun Assault
Portland Police Bureau Case #15-11494, 15-16617
March 4, 2015

The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in two assaults involving a pellet gun.

On February 10, 2015, at 8:20 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Franklin High School on the report that a 16-year-old girl suffered a minor leg injury after being shot by person with a pellet gun. The victim reported that she was standing near the tennis courts when she heard three shots and felt a pellet strike her right leg. The only description she was able to provide was two people in a white car.

On February 28, 2015, at 8:05 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Southeast 70th Avenue and Mitchell Court on the report that a 42-year-old woman had been struck in the face with a rock. Officers and medical personnel arrived and learned that the victim was walking her dog and thought a rock hit her face after being kicked up by the tire of a passing vehicle. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital by ambulance with a serious eye injury caused by some kind of ballistic pellet.

Officers located a witness in the neighborhood who described a smaller, mid-size white sedan, occupied by four (4) white males, drive by as the witness heard three “pop” sounds like an Air Soft or similar-type gun being fired from the vehicle.

Assault detectives are not certain these cases are linked but are investigating the possibility. Additionally, there is concern that there may be additional victims or cases that have not been reported.
